My son is a die-hard fan of chocolate chip cookies and milk. The way he enjoys the cookies, he finishes a box of cookies within the blink of an eye 😛. I thought why not I should bake them for him at home. Homemade is healthier as I add a small amount of instant oat to it. When I first time baked it, I was wondering how he will react to it, as he is a picky eater. It's hard to get 10 out of 10 from him 😄. But He said that it's a really good mom. So I am making it more frequently after that.
Prep time: 1hour and 15 mins
Cooking time: 15 mins
Serving: 16 cookies
Ingredients:
½ cup of sugar
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup of butter (melted)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup of instant oats
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
8 oz chocolate chips (I used 4 oz dark and 4 oz white)
Methods:
In a large bowl, mix the brown sugar, white sugar, and melted butter together.
Crack the egg in a small bowl and mix vanilla with it.
Combine the egg vanilla mixture with the sugar-butter mixture.
Mix the oats, baking soda, and salt with the flour.
Then mix the flour and oat mix with the wet mixtures.
Fold the chocolate chips with the mixed dough. (I divided the dough mixture into two parts. Then folded the dark chocolate chips into one part and the white chocolate chips into the other part.)
Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Scoop the dough with a scoop or with a tablespoon onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, leave 2 to 3 inches of space in between two cookies to spread when cooking.
Bake for 15 minutes or until they are lightly golden brown.
Take out the cookies from the oven and let them cool completely.
Enjoy the oat and chocolate chip cookies with milk.
