GLAZED DOUGHNUTS

My family absolutely loves Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. But because of this unprecedented time, we did not have those store-bought doughnuts for almost years. And my son requested me to make some at home. I used to make doughnuts at home for fun many years ago. So, making doughnuts after a long time.

I had an old cooking recipe notebook that I had started writing 15 years ago; In this book, I used to collect recipes from different sources and then tried them. The one I liked the most I put a star on top. I had this Doughnut recipe in that old notebook and reusing the same recipe again for this batch of doughnuts. This recipe is awesome, and the doughnut comes out really soft, fluffy, and yummy. Sharing that recipe with you all.


Prep time: 4 hours

Cooking time: 30 mins

Serving: 10 Doughnuts


Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups of Flour

  2. 3 tablespoon Sugar

  3. 1/2 teaspoon Salt

  4. 1 Egg

  5. 1/2 cup Milk

  6. 2 tablespoon Butter

  7. 1 packet Dry Yeast

  8. 1 teaspoon good Vanilla extract

  9. Oil for frying

  10. 1 cup icing Sugar (For Glaze)

  11. 1/2 cup Butter (For Glaze)

  12. 1/4 cup of Milk (For Glaze)


Methods:


First, melt the butter and keep it aside.

Warm the milk for 45 seconds, add a tablespoon of sugar and dry yeast, and set it aside for 5 mins.

In a stand mixer or a mixing bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt and mix well.

Then mix the egg, butter, milk-yeast mixture, vanilla together and mix well.

It will be a sticky dough.

On a working surface, put some oil and take out the dough on it.

Don't add more flour to add this point and knead for 5 mins.

Put some oil in a bowl and keep the kneaded dough in it.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and keep the bowl in a warm place.

Let the dough rise in double in about 2 hours.

After 2 hours, sprinkle some flour on a countertop and take out the dough.

Next, roll the dough with a rolling pin about 1/4 inch thick.

Then cut with a doughnut cutter and keep them on parchment paper.

Leave the doughnuts for 30 more mins the second rise.

Take a deep pan and heat some oil for frying on very low heat (near 200'F).

Fry doughnuts in very low heat are the key process to raise the Doughnut.

Take out the doughnut from oil to a plate cover with a paper towel for a few minutes.

In a bowl, take melted butter, powder sugar, milk, and mix well for the glaze.

Drop the doughnuts into the glaze and cover the doughnut with glaze, and let it sit on a rack.

Decorate doughnuts with melted white or dark chocolate. (Optional).

Enjoy fresh warm, soft, fluffy, and yummy doughnuts with a cup of coffee or hot chocolates.
