Homemade Aam Panna /Aam Pora Sharbat/Roasted Green Mango Drink!

Who does not love to have sweet and sour, slightly spicy Aam Panna on a hot summer day!

Aam Panna is a roasted raw mango drink that is really popular on hot summer days across India. In Bengali, we call it Aam pora sharbat. It's really easy to make. If you have the pulp ready, you just need to add chilled water, salt, sugar, and spices and mix it and your Amm Pannais ready to drink.


First, make the raw green mango pulp:


Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 90 minutes

Servings: 1 and 1/2 cups of Pulp


Ingredients:

5 good size raw green mangoes

1 tablespoon oil


Methods:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.

  • Take 5 good size raw green mangos on a baking sheet and lightly apply the oil on them.

  • Then roasted them in the 450 degrees oven for 1 and half hours.

  • When they are fully cooked turn off the heat, and take them out from the oven and let them cool down.

  • Peel the skin off and take out the pulp.

  • Mash the pulp and keep it aside.

  • You will get 1 and 1/2 cups of pulp from these 5 roasted mangoes.

  • You may store it in the refrigerator for a week.

Now, Let's make the Aam Panna :


Prep Time: 10 minutes Making Time: 10 minutes

Servings: 5 Servings




Ingredients:


1/2 cup mango green mango pulp

1/4 cup chopped mint leaves

5 cups of chilled water

6 tablespoons Agave syrup or sugar (add more or less depending on the sourness of the mango pulp)

2 teaspoon dry roasted cumin powder

1 and 1/2 teaspoon black salt (or according to your taste)

1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Some ice cubes

Mint leaves for garnish.



Methods:

  • In a blender, take the green mango pulp, mint leaves, sugar, roasted cumin powder, chili powder, black salt, and 1/2 cup water and blend it into a smooth paste.



  • Then pour it into a pitcher and add 2 and 1/2 cups of chilled water and mix it.

  • Add ice cubes into the glasses and pour the chilled aam Panna over ice.

  • Garnish with mint leaves and serve chilled Aam Panna.
