Orange cake is a delightful dessert that offers a refreshing citrus twist, making it perfect for any occasion, whether it's a casual get-together or a special celebration. Its light, moist texture combined with the zesty flavor of fresh oranges provides a balance of sweetness and tanginess that appeals to a wide range of taste buds. This is one of my favorite cake!

Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened or vegetable oil
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp orange extract
Zest of 1 orange
½ cup fresh orange juice
For the Glaze (optional):
1 cup powdered sugar
2-3 tbsp fresh orange juice
Candy Orange for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the orange extract and orange zest.
Gradually add the dry ingredients and orange juice to the butter mixture. Mix it until just combined. Don’t over mix.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Sprinkle some powder sugar over the cake and garnish with candy orange if desired.
